Step 1 Dry roast puffed rice until crisp To make this yummy dessert recipe at home, take a griddle and dry roast puffed rice over a low flame until it turns crisp. Keep it aside. Step 2 Prepare jaggery syrup with a perfect consistency Heat ghee in a large deep-bottomed frying pan (kadhai) and add jaggery to it. Keeping the flame on low, wait till the jaggery melts by stirring continuously. After the jaggery melts and combined with ghee, the mixture will turn frothy. To check the consistency of the jaggery syrup, drop jaggery syrup into the bowl full of water. If the consistency is correct, the syrup drop will form a smooth and soft ball. Otherwise, boil the syrup for a couple of minutes and check again. After you get a perfect consistency, turn off the flame.
